History

United Dynamics, Aerospace & Defense, Inc was originally founded in 1993 in Tecumseh, Oklahoma as Technology Development Group, Incorporated by Harmik DerSahakian, John Klaser and CMSgt (ret) Cliff Smith. The team started in a mere 400 square foot facility. By 1997, Cliff had left the team and Harmik and John had grown the company to the point where it needed to expand to a 12,000 square foot facility in Shawnee, Oklahoma. In 2013, the company rebranded itself as United Dynamics, Incorporated (UDI) and by 2019, it once again required a larger facility and added its current 25K sq/ft plant located less than a mile from its previous location. In 2020, Congressman Tom Cole sponsored UDI’s first of four $5M program adds dedicated to providing reverse engineering for United States Air Force mechanical, electrical and electro-mechanical supply chain and diminishing sources of supply challenges. To support these endeavors, UDI added its new Engineering Center of Excellence in the downtown Oklahoma City Leadership Square facility. Congresswoman Stephanie Bice officiated the ribbon-cutting ceremony with a host of local dignitaries in the audience. In 2023, UDI upgraded its branding to better capture the essence of its product lines renaming the company to United Dynamics, Aerospace & Defense. The company celebrated its 30th Anniversary on July 13, 2023 and looks forward to another 30 years of serving both military and commercial aviation and defense sectors. In March 2024, United Dynamics became a certified FAA Part 145 Repair Station.
